Morning Edition - March 26, 2026
Regulation and stablecoin rails are moving fast, and the market is pricing both risk and relief at the same time.
Bitcoin grinds higher as Iran risk fades
Bitcoin climbed about 3% to roughly $68,960 after President Trump said the Iran war could be nearing an end, helping risk appetite recover. The market still trades headlines, but the price action shows BTC is staying decoupled from the worst oil shock scenarios. Source
BTC tags $71K on regulatory optimism
Another push took BTC to around $71,113 as US regulatory optimism offset ongoing Iran jitters. The SEC and CFTC said they will collaborate on a joint framework, which is the first credible sign of policy convergence in years. Source
CLARITY Act draft hits stablecoin yield, Coinbase gets clipped
A revised CLARITY Act draft reportedly bans yield payments for holding stablecoins, and COIN dropped about 9.8% on the headline. This is the single most important line item in US crypto policy right now, since yield is the on-ramp for mass stablecoin adoption. Source
Mastercard buys BVNK for $1.8B
Mastercard agreed to acquire BVNK for up to $1.8B, including $300M in contingent payments, in a direct bet on stablecoin infrastructure. This is TradFi admitting that settlement rails, not just apps, are the strategic battlefield. Source
Grayscale registers a HYPE ETF trust in Delaware
Grayscale registered a HYPE ETF entity in Delaware on January 8, a standard first step ahead of any eventual S-1. It does not guarantee approval, but it is a real signal that Hyperliquid exposure is being packaged for public markets. Source
HIP-4 prediction markets go live on testnet
Hyperliquid shipped HIP-4 outcome trading on testnet, enabling fully collateralized, fixed-range prediction markets with USDH settlement. The roadmap includes one-day expiry binary markets for BTC and HYPE, which is exactly the kind of product that can pull new volume into the stack. Source
Hyperliquid Strategies shares keep ripping
MarketWatch highlighted Hyperliquid Strategies as the hottest crypto-linked equity this year, driven by HYPE exposure and the S&P 500 perp licensing deal. The equity trade is becoming a proxy for US access to an exchange US users cannot touch directly. Source
Tokenized RWA value jumps to $26.4B
RWA.xyz data shows tokenized real-world assets now above $26.4B, up from about $6.6B last year, with six asset categories above $1B. The structural trend is clear, and the limiting factor is now distribution, not issuance. Source
Memory pricing outlook gets uglier
TrendForce upgraded 1Q26 memory price forecasts, with conventional DRAM contracts expected up 90% to 95% QoQ and NAND up 55% to 60%. This is a capex tax on every AI roadmap and it will show up in cloud margins. Source
Stocks rise, oil dips on Iran peace plan hopes
Global stocks lifted and oil dipped on reports of a US brokered 15-point peace framework with Iran, with Brent briefly below $100. Macro relief rallies are good for risk assets, but they are fragile and can unwind fast, so keep your hedges honest. Source

Evening Edition - March 26, 2026
BTC gave back all of its morning gains and then some, sliding from $74.5K back to ~$70K after a hotter-than-expected CPI print reminded everyone that the Fed is not pivoting anytime soon.
BTC Dumps $4.5K on Hot CPI Print
The February CPI came in hotter than consensus, and BTC unwound its morning rip almost tick for tick - dropping from $74.5K to around $70K in a few hours. It’s the clearest sign yet that macro still drives BTC at the margin, even when the structural crypto story is intact. Watch the $68K level; that’s where buyers showed up all week.
BlackRock IBIT Records First Outflow After 6-Day Streak
IBIT saw a single-day outflow of $70.75M today, snapping a 6-day inflow run. Do not read too much into it - one day of redemptions after a strong streak is normal portfolio rebalancing, not an institutional exit signal. The bigger picture is that IBIT has absorbed billions net this month and the daily vol on this product alone is institutional grade.
On-Chain: Sharpe Signal 0.40, Whales Still Buying
CoinMarketCap’s on-chain dashboard shows Sharpe Signal at 0.40 (bull trigger is 0.50), MVRV at 0.56 (fair value range), and whale accumulation ongoing with 4,323 BTC pulled off exchanges by wallets above $10M today. The signal stack says we are not in capitulation - we are in a consolidation that is being bought quietly by the largest hands in the market.
SEC Chair Atkins: Tokenization Exemption “in Weeks”
Paul Atkins confirmed at a public appearance that a tokenization exemption is coming within weeks, not months - 2,482 posts trending on the back of it. This is meaningful because it clears the path for registered securities to be issued and transferred on-chain without individual no-action relief. If it lands before Q2, it accelerates the RWA stack by at least a year.
CFTC Chair Selig at DAS: Reshoring Perps Is the Mission
CFTC Chair Selig used his DAS stage time to make reshoring crypto perpetuals to US markets his headline agenda item. He cited Hyperliquid’s $5B daily volume as the benchmark - that’s the number he wants to see flowing through US-regulated venues. For HL, this is either a threat or a legitimization event depending on how the rulemaking lands.
Foreign US Treasury Holdings Hit Near-Record $9.3T
Foreign holdings of US Treasuries are sitting at near-record $9.3T even as 5% yields make the cost of holding dollars punishing. This is a reminder that global demand for dollar liquidity has not broken yet, which is a mild headwind for the “dollar collapse = BTC moon” thesis in the short term. The structural shift is real, but it moves slowly.
Coinbase Pushing Back Hard on CLARITY Act Stablecoin Yield Ban
Coinbase is actively rejecting the Senate compromise on CLARITY Act stablecoin yield payments, with 1,109 posts tracking the fight today. The yield ban would gut the economics of any stablecoin product Coinbase wants to build - Base’s entire DeFi ecosystem depends on this. Expect heavy lobbying through April; this is not a settled issue.
HIP-4 Deep Dive: VoteGlobalAction Settles Native on L1
@Yaugourt confirmed today that HIP-4 VoteGlobalAction means prediction market outcomes settle natively on Hyperliquid L1 with no oracle dependency - resolution happens automatically in the same block as the outcome event. That architecture removes the attack surface that’s plagued prediction markets on other chains. Binary BTC and HYPE markets with same-day expiry are the first use case lined up.
HYPE Flips Cardano, Enters Top 10
HYPE cracked the top 10 by market cap today, flipping Cardano on the back of $1B in buy-backs and billions in open interest across HIP-3 products. The flywheel is working - fees fund buy-backs, buy-backs reduce supply, reduced supply lifts the price that the whole ecosystem is collateralized against. This is not a meme rally; it’s a mechanism.
Miracle Trade Goes Live: HL Perps on Mobile
Miracle Trade launched its Hyperliquid perps mobile app and is running influencer campaigns to push user acquisition. Mobile perps access is still an underserved vertical - most retail traders have to use clunky web interfaces or unofficial wrappers. If the UX is solid, this could pull a meaningful cohort of crypto-native mobile users into the HL ecosystem.
